When we clean pots and containers in the lab, we put out the extra wax and then wipe the container with a cloth or paper towel. While the pots and containers are still warm, this is the best time to do this.
Rub alcohol on the surface of the wax and do not use soap or water.

How do you clean wax utensils?
If your melter can be easily turned on or off again, you should heat it up just enough to melt the wax down again. To melt all the spots back down, use a heat gun. The wax should be wiped out with a paper towel and soapy water should be used to clean the surface.
How do you remove candle wax residue?
