To create the marble effect, you’ll need at least two different shades of satin paint. Buying the main colour you want as a base and a tin of white paint is the easiest way to find the perfect match. It’s all you have to do is mix a little of the two colors together. Paint the base colour of your marble. I used white, but you can use any colour that you’d like.
If you don’t have a white marble, I’d recommend using a darker colour, such as black, to make it stand out more. You can also use a lighter colour to add a bit of sparkle to it, or you could use the same colour as your main marble colour and mix it in with the white. Just make sure it’s not too dark or too light, otherwise it won’t look as good as it does in the picture.
Once you’ve got your base coloured, add your second colour. In this case, we’re going to use black. To do this, simply paint a thin layer of black paint on a piece of parchment paper and place it on top of a marble that has already been painted.

It is very important that you do not cut too close to the edges of your cardboard, as this will make it difficult for you to get a good grip on your acrylic and make sure that it doesn’t come apart when you try to put it back together.

You can also add more gelatin if you’d like to thin it out a bit more, or you could just leave it the way it is for now and see how it develops over the next couple of days.
It should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon, if not, add another tablespoon or two of sugar. Once it has solidified, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature before serving. The sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
