This is the number 1. You will need scissors, pins, a fabric marker, and a sewing machine needle. You can use regular sewing thread in the bobbin, as there is no need for the topstitching. Cut the fabric in half lengthwise, leaving a 1/2″ seam allowance. Pin the two halves together and sew them together at the bottom of the waistband.
Make sure the seam is not too tight or the jeans will not stay on your body. If you want to make the hem a little shorter, you can do that by cutting a piece of fabric and pinning it to the inside of one half, then sewing it on the other half.
Sew the front and back together using the same method as above, but this time you’ll be using a straight stitch instead of a zigzag stitch. This will make it easier for you to sew the back and front together, and it will also help to keep the seams from fraying. When you’re done sewing, cut off the excess fabric with a seam ripper or scissors.
The jeans should now look like the picture below.

What kind of thread do you use to hem jeans?
Most jeans use a gold thread for the hem. You would like your thread to match the jeans. The gold or whatever color hem is already in place will still be used in your new hem.
