A blind hemstitch is also known as a slip stitch. Similar to most hand sewing techniques, this stitch is used for hemming garments that have been hemmed. It is a simple stitch that is easy to learn and can be used to hem a wide variety of garments. This stitch should be knit as if you were to knit a stitch on the wrong side of your work. The stitch you are knitting is called a slip stitch.
Stitches are usually worked in one piece, but you can work them in two or more pieces to make them easier to work with. If you want to use two pieces of slip stitches, you will need to cast on a number of stitches equal to the number you wish to add to your stitch count.
For example, if your slip stitched garment has a total of 10 stitches and you would like to increase the total to 12 stitches by casting on 6 stitches each for each stitch added, then your total would be: 10 + 6 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 + 0 = 24 stitches.
