Both pavement work and landscaping work are included in division 32. Pavement work includes the removal of existing pavement and the installation of new pavement. This work is usually carried out by contractors who are registered with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DOTMR).
The contractor is responsible for the design and construction of the work, and for ensuring that it complies with local, national and international standards. It is the responsibility of local authorities to ensure that the contractor’s work meets the requirements of their local planning and building regulations.
Local authorities may also be required to carry out site-specific works, for example, to improve access to and from the site, or to make improvements to the existing road network. What are CSI divisions?
The most widely used standard for organizing specifications and other written information for commercial and institutional building projects is the 16 Divisions of construction. It is also the standard used by many other organizations, including the International Code Council (ICC), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
The most common of these are the Specifications for Structural Steel (SST), which is used to describe the strength of structural steel, and Specification for Concrete (SC) which describes the properties of concrete. These two specifications are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. For example, the SST is a structural specification, while the SC is an engineering specification.
