What is lightfastness in paint?
Lightfastness is how long a paint color will last, or how unaffected it is by light. Artist’s oil colors are rated according to the American Society for Testing and Materials. Color temperature is a measure of how much light is absorbed by a material.
For example, a light-colored paint will absorb more light than a dark paint, but will not absorb as much as a white paint.
What is high lightfastness?

How do you test lightfastness?
In our light fastness test, samples are exposed to an intense artificial light generated by a Xenon arc lamp. The light goes through a series of filters to make sure it matches the natural light. The results are shown in the graph below.
As you can see, the light-fastness of the samples is very close to that predicted by the theory of quantum electrodynamics (QED), which states that the speed of light in a vacuum is equal to the square root of its speed in an electric field.

Are liquitex basics lightfast?
