The lowest note on the keyboard is called c1, the third white note from the end. Next we have C2, then C3 because each C to the right increases by one. C6, and so on, until you get to C7, which is the highest C. So, for example, if you were to type C8, you’d get C9. It’s a pretty simple system, but it can be a little confusing at first.
So let’s take a look at it a bit more closely. That’s because they’re all the same length. The only difference between them is how many white space characters they have. In other words, the first C is a single space, while the second is two spaces and the third is three spaces.
