The needle tightens the red thread and pulls it up off the hook. We’re ready for the process to repeat after the red and yellow threads are locked together. The next step is to remove the thread from the needle. You can do this by pulling it out with your fingers, or you can use a pair of tweezers to do it.
If you’re using a tweezer, make sure you don’t pull too hard, as this can damage the threads. Once you’ve pulled out your thread, you should be able to see that the two threads have been pulled apart. This is a good sign that your stitch is ready to be finished.

How does a sewing machine work physics?
The fabric is penetrated by the needle as it carries its thread with it. A loop of thread is formed on the fabric’s under side when the needle lifts. The thread is held in place by a spring. When the spring is released, the thread falls out of the case and is pulled back into place. This process is repeated until all the threads have been pulled out.
How does a sewing machine hook work?
The rotary hook continuously rotates in place, hooking the upper thread each time its pointed tip passes the 12 o’clock position. The bobbin case has loops of thread that can be pulled out of it if enough upper thread is pulled from above.
The hook is held in position by a pair of spring-loaded pins, one on each side of its upper end. The pins are secured to the frame by two screws, each of which is provided with a screwdriver-type head.
When the hooks are in use, the screwdrivers are removed and the screws are tightened, so that the pins cannot be moved from their positions. This prevents them from being accidentally pulled off by the user, and also prevents the use of a hook that is too small for its intended purpose.

What moves the fabric while sewing?
Feed dog moves the fabric as you sew. Knob can be used to control the feeding rate of your dog, or to adjust the amount of food the dog eats. It can also be attached to the side of a dog bed to help control how much food is fed to a particular dog at a given time.
What is stitching mechanism?
Again, by a series of levers, this connects to a hook ring. The upper thread is picked up by the hook ring and the lower thread is held by the bobbin. Using the up and down movement of the needle and the rotation of the hook ring, the two threads are looped together to form a stitch.
This stitch is called a ‘bobbin stitch’ and is the most common stitch used in knitting. It can be done in many different ways, but the basic idea is to pass the thread through the hole and then sew it in place.
How does a sewing machine pick up the bobbin thread?
With your right hand, turn the balance wheel toward you (counterclockwise) until the needle moves down and back up again to its highest position. The lower thread should have been caught in a loop by the upper thread. The lower thread will come up from the bobbin in a straight line if you pull the upper thread toward you.
Repeat this process with the other needle. If you have trouble with this step, you may need to adjust the tension of the thread. You can do this by tightening or loosening the threads on your needle, or by using a needle threader.
