How do you make container candles with soy wax?
It only takes 90 seconds in my microwave to melt the wax in a pan over medium heat or in a microwave-safe container. 2 cups melted wax is equal to four cups of soy wax. Let it cool down a bit when it’s nice and melted. You can add essential oils to the melted wax to your liking.
You can also add a few drops of lavender essential oil if you’d like, but I didn’t have any at the time, so I left it out. If you don’t want to add any oils, you can just leave it as it is. Now you’re ready to make the cake. I used a 9″ round cake pan for this recipe, and it was perfect.
It was a little on the thick side for my taste, which is fine, because I’m not a big fan of thick cakes. However, I think it would be great with a smaller pan, like a 10″ or 12″ pan.
Just make sure that you use the same size pan as you used for the frosting, otherwise you won’t be able to get the right amount of cake to cover the bottom of the pan when you put it in the oven.
